We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Risk Consultant to support our members primarily in Central and Eastern Washington and Idaho.
The Senior Clinical Risk Consultant is responsible for on-going risk management support for assigned account types, including physicians, clinics, hospitals, multi-specialty health systems, and other alternative business subscribers. This position is also responsible for conducting risk evaluations and risk assessments and developing relevant risk management content. The consultant will focus on driving change and reducing risk exposures while developing a targeted service plan for members and clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct risk evaluations and onsite risk assessments for assigned accounts. Analyze systems and processes in complex environments and recommend actions for improvement to be incorporated into account-specific risk management plans.
- Consult on risk management issues via telephone, email and/or in person. Provide risk consultation to internal and external customers by conducting research and engaging subject matter experts as necessary.
- Lead and/or participate in Risk Management projects to meet emerging risk management trends and/or meet department goals.
- Develop risk management content, educational offerings, and programs on current and relevant risk-related topics. Continually review on an ongoing basis to ensure content remains accurate and relevant and update content per department-established research guidelines.
- Develop and deliver account specific educational offerings and programs based on Risk Assessment outcomes or identified needs. Collaborate with Risk Management Services Coordinator to facilitate service offerings via established process.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to determine areas of risk with existing and/or new accounts; participate in developing and implementing interventions to mitigate risk exposure.
- Participate in Risk Management department meetings and represent the department at organizational meetings as assigned.
- Maintain active knowledge and expertise in current risk management issues and trends; demonstrated by participating in continuing educational opportunities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Active RN license required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field
- Five plus years of risk management experience in a clinical setting, including a hospital or multi-specialty health system environment
- A valid driver’s license required with the ability to travel up to 50% to assigned accounts and other locations as necessary to accomplish department goals. Travel destinations include the company office as well as national travel for account visits and professional engagements as necessary
- Excellent planning, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills and demonstrated knowledge of medical malpractice insurance, patient safety, and risk management
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills, with an attention to detail
- Demonstrated technical ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications
- Strong commitment to customer service and quality improvement
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or other related certification preferred

The salary range for this position is $112,000 to $178,600. Starting salary is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for an annual company bonus at an incentive target level of 12%.
