This session will delve into the personal and systemic realities of clinician burnout. Attendees will gain insights into the scope of burnout in the US healthcare landscape, recognition of warning signs in their colleagues, and strategies to build personal and system resilience.

•    Appreciate the scope and ramifications of clinician burnout
•    Understand the root causes of clinician burnout

Brock Bordelon, MD

Dr. Bordelon attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine. While in Salt Lake City, he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Bordelon is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, among other regional and national professional societies.

Anne Flitcroft, RN, BSN

Anne Flitcroft has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, much of it in clinical risk management and patient safety. She is credited with developing several of the risk-evaluation and assessment tools available to PI Members to improve processes and implement best practices. Prior to joining PI, Anne worked as a registered nurse as well as Director of Risk Management, Privacy, and Compliance at an acute care hospital in Oregon.
